I’m an experienced visual designer in Brooklyn doing fun, creative work across a wide range of styles and media. I’ve also art-directed the world's second-largest magazine, edited videos for million-dollar galas, and created a visitor center in the jungles of Angkor, Cambodia. Let’s talk about what I can do for you...
There are lots of designers out there—what makes me unique?
I'm restlessly inquisitive, highly observant, and always eager to discover something unexpected in every creative challenge, from the simplest business card to cross-media international branding campaigns.
I have a background firmly based in logic and reason (I grew up in a family of engineers), and apply rigorous but playful thought to every project. My meticulous eye for detail ensures that every aspect of our work together will be refined until it achieves its fullest potential.
I have a singular love of language (my greatest mentors have been writers, editors, and poets), and believe that exactly the right words are at the core of all great visual design. I'm a proficient editor in English, but also have worked with type in Spanish, French, Hungarian, Croatian, Chinese, Japanese, Khmer, and Thai.
...so if you’re seeking a world-class art director with a sharp mind, a passionate, exacting eye for design, and an unwavering commitment to excellence—let’s talk.
Jarrett A. Lobell—Executive Editor, Archaeology Magazine
Ken is by far the most creative art director I've known, with a keen eye for design, and a fierce passion and intelligence that underpins all his work. He is endlessly resourceful, always eager to go the extra mile...and he's just a pleasure to work with: cheerful, good-natured, and eternally optimistic. I heartily recommend Ken as a high-level art director....
Norma Barbacci—Director of Field Programs, World Monuments Fund
Ken is a very professional and creative art director and graphic design expert. His work at WMF was of the highest quality...Ken has been more than generous in his professional contributions to non-for-profit causes, and he has been a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend him as a graphic designer, art director, and editor.
Stephen Hanks—Magazine Editor/Writer
Having worked with Ken before, I already knew him to be an excellent designer...I would recommend him to any company looking for a highly creative, passionate, and hard-working design director.
